Northern Territory

As there are currently no laws regarding surrogacy in the Northern Territory all forms of surrogacy are technically legal. This includes commercial surrogacy. While commercial surrogacy is technically legal, all clinics in the NT are bound by the Commonwealth’s Ethical Guidelines on the use of Assisted Reproductive Technology in Clinical Practice¬†& Research which prohibits the clinic from facilitating IVF for a commercial surrogacy agreement.

If you are wanting to embark on surrogacy within the NT please seek legal advice before proceeding
